Support Worker

Main Responsibilities:

  • Respect for Service Users right to choose and refuse assistance
  • Support for the Service User in making informed choices
  • Service Users are supported to maintain personal hygiene and appearance. To provide personal care where required which may involve assistance with; Continence requirements; Health and Medication requirements; Manual Handling;
  • Service Users are treated with respect at all times
  • A safe environment for chosen activities, Support is given to Service Users to manage their domestic and personal resources in a safe manner.
  • Provision of specialised care to clients with specific needs according to your own skills and qualifications
  • To promote travel training, money management and independent life skills as required by the care plan.
  • Supporting with meal support and preparing meals; Handling personal possessions; finances and documents; entering the home, room, bathroom and toilet; shopping.
  • Other duties that may be allocated by the organisation and management.

Applicant Profile:
Applicants must be enthusiastic and able to show initiative working as part of a strong team. Strong communication, good time keeping, organisational skills and the ability to respect the confidentiality of the residents is essential. Candidates must have good personal hygiene and be committed and dedicated to producing high levels of care.

Hours of Work:  
Flexible, depending on the needs of the business

Maintenance

The Main Function of the Job:

Note– In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required

*To maintain maintenance skills at the current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.
*To provide maintenance services, in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.

The Dell (Wellbeing Care Limited), but you may be relocated within the UK at the discretion of the company with 4 weeks’ notice.

Management of the organisation:

1. Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within The Home.
2. Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture.
3. Participate in the development of The Home’s policies.
4. Participate in the evaluation of The Home against agreed organisational goals, as well as business and quality objectives.
5. Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships.
6. Minimise legal risks.
7. Participate in the maintenance of The Home’s management information systems.
8. Assist in the formulation and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures.
9. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standards required by legislation related to the registration of The Home.
10. Act within The Home’s budget based on The Home’s objectives and within the projected revenue.
11. Work in a cost-effective manner.
12. Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of The Home’s quality assurance programme.
13. Assist the Manager in the design and administration of an evaluation of the maintenance standards and maintenance provision.
14. Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise.

Management of the Human Resources:

1. Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees.
2. Support the implementation ofThe Home’s policies and procedures.
3. Support the effective resolution of team conflicts.
4. Support a work atmosphere which promotes a high quality of work life.
5. Support and maintain a culture of performance and excellence.

Main Duties:

1. Assist in the development of the philosophy, goals and objectives of the maintenance practice.
2. Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of maintenance implementation and delivery.
3. Implement action to meet and maintain maintenance standards.
4. Work in cooperation with members of multi-disciplinary health teams in order to maximise opportunities for Service User therapeutic care.
5. Ensure that Service User rights are protected.
6. Encourage a model of self-care and Service User rehabilitation.
7. Evaluate standards of maintenance competence.

Professional Long-Term care Leadership:

1. Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of maintenance.
2. Encourage health promotion within maintenance strategies.
3. Seek opportunities for personal and professional development.
4. Promote a positive image of residency and employment within The Home.

Day Care Assistant

Day Care Assistant

*   Flexible, depending on the needs of the business

*   Various Day and Night Shifts Available

JOB PURPOSE

*   To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach
*   To observe and promote the Client’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights
*   To create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, their family and friends and other stakeholders
*   To actively support other Care Workers
*   To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and our policies, procedures and guidelines
*   To actively market Dell Care Home and promote a positive, personal and professional profile, ensuring the good reputation of Dell Care Home at all times

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Care provision

*   To provide personal care and support to Clients with a wide range of needs, illnesses and disabilities
*   To know and understand the care and support of the Client
*   To undertake the tasks detailed in the Client’s care and support plan using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive way
*   To encourage the independence and motivation of the Client and not foster dependent behaviour
*   To provide input into the care and support plans of Clients by regularly feeding back to the Field Care Supervisor
*   To assist Clients getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
*   To assist Clients to wash, bath and shower
*   To assist Clients to dress and undress
*   To assist Clients to look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails
*   To assist Clients with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene
*   To assist Clients with their medication at the agreed level of support and as detailed in their Medication Care Needs Assessment
*   To prepare food and drink for the Client, being aware of the Client’s choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements
*   To provide light general household domestic duties, including housework and laundry, as detailed in the care plan or instructed by Management
*   To use manual handling equipment safely and correctly
*   To take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to the Client
*   To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with Clients
*   To provide companionship to the Client, actively talking and listening to them about their interests
*   To help the Client to maintain contact with their family and friends
*   To accompany the Client on trips into the community
*   To assist the Client to manage their personal affairs
*   To ensure as safe as possible the living environment for the Client, whilst respecting the Client’s choice and rights

Recording and Reporting

*   To maintain detailed accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken
*   To regularly read care and support plans, acknowledging changes
*   To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the Client and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it
*   To promptly report to the office or Out of Hours Care Coordinator any issues concerning the care, support, well being or behaviour of the Client and update records accordingly
*   To continue to monitor where concerns have been reported and recorded
*   To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to a Manager
*   To report any complaints to the office or Out of Hours Care Coordinator
*   To contact the office or Out of Hours Care Coordinator if running late

General

*   To dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment provided by Dell Care Home
*   To seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery
*   To attend and participate in regular Care Worker team meetings and any other relevant meetings
*   To attend in-house and external training pertinent to the role of Care Worker
*   To ensure completed weekly timesheets are submitted on time
*   To observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable care to promote health and safety of self and others and raise any concerns to the Field Care Supervisor
*   To aim to ensure everyone has equal treatment and equal access to services and employment
*   Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post
